The Kindergarten Union first started Playways in the 1930's and was originally located in Daley Street near Circular Quay, Sydney. In the 1960's it moved to Clarence Street, Sydney. When the Union decided to close Playways the staff, who were all Early Childhood trained opened Play House Toy Shop in 1989, which also traded in Clarence Street, at a different address.

Sadly, in January 2007 Play House Toy Shop closed its doors. As many of our suppliers were independant crafts people, who had supplied Play House exclusively for many years, they found they no longer had an outlet for their products, so www.playhousetoys.com.au was conceived to support the crafts people who had supported the shop for so long.

Our aim is to provide the same quality products and informed advice Play House Toy Shop was  famous for.
